Wayne Hold Ya Head...

It was a sad day today at No Airy.  Lil Wayne was officially sentenced to a year at Rikers Island and began serving his time.  With good behavior, we can expect Mr. Carter back in society in 8 months.  His unmatched work ethic has allowed him to record numerous songs that will be released while he is serving his time in order to keep his name relevant in the rap game.  This is the highest profile prison sentence in the world of hip hop and most influential since Tupac's 11 month bid in '95.  Only time will tell how Lil Tunechi will handle his sentence and what moves we might see from the Young Money CEO from behind bars.  There is no question that his No Airy-to-Airy song ratio has risen dramatically over the past few years.  We'll never know the exact reasons for this (cough..autotune...cough...sizzurp...cough..kids), but every No Airy song still has the same effect.  This guy is the best rapper alive when he wants to be and we can only hope he continues to have this effect after this life lesson is over for him.  In the meantime, it's FREE WEEZY and as always... M.O.B.

Update:  Less than 24 hours after Lil Wayne was locked up, the first official "leak that wasn't supposed to leak" has arrived courtesy of Yung Joc's camp.  Rumors have it that Birdman has yet to sign off on this verse being used for Yung Joc's new single appropriately called "Drip."  (you get it? he's the first to leak weezy post-incarceration and the song is named after the sound a leak makes.  this can't be a coincidence.)  Anyways for all the haters out there, this song solidifies my earlier statements how Wayne can kill a beat with the best when he wants to.  This only increases the buzz that surrounds his incarceration and the anticipation of what else might be leaked while in prison.  There is speculation that tunechi has recorded the Carter IV and a couple days ago Juelz Santana announced that label politics are still holding up the highly anticipated joint ablum with Lil Wayne entitled 'I Can't Feel My Face'.  Hopefully the absence of Mr. Carter will generate enough impatience for that album to finally become reality.  Can i dream? but enough with the rumors, let's just hope stuff keeps "dripping" (no homo).  p.s. - if you want to hear the yung joc verses then go to a real blog and get the whole song.  besides, leaking somebody's song without permission is airy!
