A Big Eff U from Cincy

When will west virginia stop sh!tting on cincinnati? it's getting rediculous.  let me refresh you.  it's 1998 ncaa tournament.  the number 2 seed Cincinnati is playing the 10th seeded mountainqueers (as they'll now be referred to forever; sorry if i offend anybody).  UC is up 2 with about 6 seconds left to play when this happens:  (fast forward to 2:40 of the following youtube clip to see)

ouch.  i can only watch that like twice before i start tearing up, real talk.

then there's our beloved Coach Huggins.  the time period is 2005-2007.  We stuck with him through the good and bad and were awaiting the ultimate freshman squad that would have ended the NBA Age Restriction rule the year it started.  Huggins was coaching a decent cincinnati team while OJ Mayo and Bill Walker dominated the prep hoop area to a legendary extent.  OJ and Bill kept hinting towards desire to play together in college and their very good relationship with Huggy bear.  They also recruited their AAU teammate Michael Beasley (ya heard me?) and a soon-to-be washed up 7-foot high school teammate to be part of the package deal as a recruiting class practically guaranteeing a spot in the final four (very similar to what Kentucky did this year).  Then this old conservative hag from wisconsin or something became president at UC and decided that drinking alcohol irresponsibly completely erases all previous credit for that person.  even if it was building a program from mid-major level to big east acceptability during his tenure.  As we all know Huggins was fired despite enormous fan support and then bill walker was ruled ineligible for his senior year due to cryptic eligibility rules involving when he took certain tests.  then OJ Mayo lost all desire to stay in the city, he moved back to his hometown of huntington, WEST VIRGINIA (eff u, eff u, eff u) and led them to a one-loss season.  Huggins was given a second chance at Kansas State that year and had Bill Walker transfer with him.  After a promising start, Billy Sky Walker tore his ACL mid-year and began his recovery during the next year when Michael Beasley eventually followed Huggins (or so he thought) to K-State and lit up the Big XII for a year.  Meanwhile OJ Mayo decided he wanted to be paid NOW so he had 2 choices:  1.  ride the bench in Europe or  2.  go play for USC.  thats a tough choice but i can't hate him for that.  money equals happiness.  anyways,  Huggins gets the chance to go back to his alma-mater a year later and bolts kansas state immediately, even with Michael Beasley on campus and waiting to go Eff-You mode on the stat sheets.  So yes, cincinnati is happy that Coach Huggins got to end up coaching his alma mater and in the big east.  but we're always gonna be a little extra bitter of whoever has Huggy bear.

now fast forward to tonight.  Big East tournament quarterfinals.  cincinnati has played like a jv team from a special ed school that thinks the more rebounds you get, the more wins you get.  so the continuously throw up bricks and literally chuck the ball off the backboard just for their teammates to jump and attempt another offensive rebound with no real hope of a putback.  their strategy works because its the big east and march and funny things happen in March.  Lance Stephenson single handedly wills them back to tie the game and with 6 seconds left and a chance to win, his team refuses to inbound him the ball and after a timeout the coach then draws a play not involving him.   they end up turning it over and give West Virginia 3 seconds to skull F&%# cincy.  Desean Butler happily accepts:

yup, so that's 2 game winning/season ending bank-shot 3 pointers made against the same team by the same team within 12 years.  I'm willing to bet that hasn't happened much in the history of basketball.  when you add that with the fact that West Virginia has Huggins now and the whole OJ Mayo ditching the nati for w.v. thing,  it makes me want to blow the entire state up if that was possible.  since i can't i guess i just gotta say a big EFF YOU to the mountainqueers.  Stay Airy West Virginia.  I wouldn't recognize you otherwise.

No Airy State of Mind and I'm In Loveeeeee

Lately, I've been contemplating a lot of things, just thinking, thinking, thinking, and I just realized that I don't even want to have any airy thoughts. In every situation, I want to see the positive and if there is no positive, well I don't want to be involved in the situation...that's why you will see a lot of No Airy things being posted by me, while i let my colleagues take care of all the airy ish going on in the world...but knowing myself, I'll wake up and find something so airy that i have to post it...

Secondly, in the recent weeks I got this job at a restaurant where I make some tips...and instead of putting it in the bank or anything, I just bring it home, put all my tips in a ziplock bag (since I need it an a week or so anyways to spend it in various places) and see my money grow...but what's so weird is, it's almost as if I am in love with that process..I mean I come home from work, and before i do anything else, I like to go straight to my room, put my money in the bag and count it...and it's almost addicting...it gives me the same feeling I had when I had my first kiss, or when my girl and I were in that honeymoon stage of our relationship where everything was good and happy...except the difference is, that feeling with my girl went away, and you get into arguments and fights, and there's stress and negativity, and there is always something you are not doing correctly when it comes to a woman...but money..now that's a different story...money doesn't talk back (well figuratively MONEY TALKS..but literally its quiet) ...money doesn't complain, money is always happy even if I have it in a ziploc bag, it doesn't have any demands, and money...well it always puts a smile on my face..and that smile doesn't go away...EVER...I mean I always knew I love money, but there is just something raw about seeing 20 dollar bills in stacks...growing and growing as every day passes by and that feeling made me fall in love with money allllllllll over again, and it leaves me wanting more... it makes me want to turn those 20 dollar stacks, into 100 dollar stacks, and those stacks to be in a carribean account rather than a ziplock bag...and that carribean bank to be a stone's throw away from my mansion so I can say "Whoever don't agree come and see my nigga, I be waiting in my mansion SEASIDE nigga," ahhhh ..I'm blushing like a girl right now but what can I say, I'm in LOOOVEEE..more in love than Tom Cruise was on Oprah's couch...and I'm looking forward to a great future and a happily ever after kind of ordeal for me and my baby...so to all my boys be positive or in other words No Airy and M.O.B.

Wayne Hold Ya Head...

It was a sad day today at No Airy.  Lil Wayne was officially sentenced to a year at Rikers Island and began serving his time.  With good behavior, we can expect Mr. Carter back in society in 8 months.  His unmatched work ethic has allowed him to record numerous songs that will be released while he is serving his time in order to keep his name relevant in the rap game.  This is the highest profile prison sentence in the world of hip hop and most influential since Tupac's 11 month bid in '95.  Only time will tell how Lil Tunechi will handle his sentence and what moves we might see from the Young Money CEO from behind bars.  There is no question that his No Airy-to-Airy song ratio has risen dramatically over the past few years.  We'll never know the exact reasons for this (cough..autotune...cough...sizzurp...cough..kids), but every No Airy song still has the same effect.  This guy is the best rapper alive when he wants to be and we can only hope he continues to have this effect after this life lesson is over for him.  In the meantime, it's FREE WEEZY and as always... M.O.B.

Update:  Less than 24 hours after Lil Wayne was locked up, the first official "leak that wasn't supposed to leak" has arrived courtesy of Yung Joc's camp.  Rumors have it that Birdman has yet to sign off on this verse being used for Yung Joc's new single appropriately called "Drip."  (you get it? he's the first to leak weezy post-incarceration and the song is named after the sound a leak makes.  this can't be a coincidence.)  Anyways for all the haters out there, this song solidifies my earlier statements how Wayne can kill a beat with the best when he wants to.  This only increases the buzz that surrounds his incarceration and the anticipation of what else might be leaked while in prison.  There is speculation that tunechi has recorded the Carter IV and a couple days ago Juelz Santana announced that label politics are still holding up the highly anticipated joint ablum with Lil Wayne entitled 'I Can't Feel My Face'.  Hopefully the absence of Mr. Carter will generate enough impatience for that album to finally become reality.  Can i dream? but enough with the rumors, let's just hope stuff keeps "dripping" (no homo).  p.s. - if you want to hear the yung joc verses then go to a real blog and get the whole song.  besides, leaking somebody's song without permission is airy!

Watching Jermaine O' Neal Deteriorate is Airy

I was always a Jermaine O' Neal fan...maybe because while I lived in the West Coast, for some odd reason the Indiana Pacers were my East Coast team (after MJ retired of course), and that's where the best Jermaine played...I was watching the Lakers vs. Heat game, and I was looking at the Heat to see what's wrong with them..why is Beasely not getting any playing time in the 4th quarter...wasn't he supposed to be good but he's young give him a break(you know who else is young...dequan cook; just giving him a shoutout cuz hes from exit 30 something on Highway 75 aka Dayton, OH and he went to my alma mater)....why is Udonis Haslem still on the team ..and why did Quentin Richardson stop doing that cool thing he used to do with Darius Miles after every dunk when they played for the Clippers (prolly cuz after you play for the knicks you lose every iota of swagger u ever had)...anyways..then the second half started and it was make or break time...everyone on the heat was doing their part (especially Quentin..he balled out and special mention to Carlos Arroyo who stepped up and made some big shots in the game...always liked his game dunno why), everyone except Jermaine. This game would have never went to overtime if it wasn't for some critical mistakes he made...the unnecessary extra step on the screen with 42 seconds left to turn the ball over, the missed shots, the stupid fouls (one at the end of overtime when they were up by 5 points with 1 second left in the game)...and the list goes on..just look at the list of every play he made from the third quarter on and you will see the problem...but the sad part is that it's not just a one game thing...Jermaine has been slowly dwindling away and today's game just emulated the overall stage of his career..it has moved on from the dominance he portrayed with the pacers to bumping around in the key(just like he has been bumping around from indiana to toronto to miami to...?) and throwing up shots here and there...and getting a few free throws to bump up the ppg...and with the back and hip problems, it looks like the end is approaching..and it's approaching fast for Jermaine..I'm not saying he won't play for 4 or 5 more years(if healthy), he can definitely be more productive than Udonis Haslem every single game, but it's just airy to have to watch him play like this when you have seen him ball the way he did in Indiana...but could he be a role player in a DWade, Chris Bosh/Amare Stoudamire led Miami Heat team come next year...helll yeah..and maybe that possibility of getting a championship could spark a little bit more hustle out of him..but all I'm saying is long gone is the Jermaine O'Neal of the Indiana days, and if the Heat were expecting anything more from him, well they should have seen this coming...

Road to a Milli...day 1

Just got done cold calling, it was a good day. Got 4 leads lined up. Figured out the best way to do it is not just go door to door where ever, you gotta figure out where the money is. So the people that prolly do need ur service prolly can't afford to get it and da people with money to blow are the best ones to sell on. Lets get it, no airy

Random

Just a random thought....we need some No Airy girls. To Be Continued...

wake up and cake up

So this blog isn't just about the NBA and sports, it's also about life. And since we are all on our Will Smith sh*t (pursuit of happyness), follow us as we try to make as much money as possible (doesn't $$$ = happiness?)

Day 1: on the f'ckin grind, going door to door trying to promote this painting company we'll be running in the cincy area (FREE ESTIMATES, not that anybody really cares). Got my feelings hurt though, being black in a majority white community and trying to sell a service DOES NOT MIX. I'm not racist at all, but dam if one more person slams their door in my face #@^#@^@&. But I'm gonna keep at it cause, well, I have to. Any advice? I was thinking of ordering strippers but instead of doing what they are paid for, I'll have them go door to door for an hour (I mean they are making $150+ an hour).

wake up and cake up, no f'ckinnnnnnnn airy
